Dosing Pump

WHAT IS A DOSING PUMP?

Dosing pump is a pump that is used to inject the rate of movement of the flow of chemical liquids into the water flow. The dosing pump has a pump component that can be used as a regulator of the amount of liquid or solution to be released.

The dosing pump is one of the most frequently used types of pumps in the chemical industry, from wastewater treatment, agriculture, factories, manufacturing to pharmaceuticals to food management.

WHAT IS A DOSING PUMP USED?
Apart from being used for filtering or purification of water and food processing, dosing pumps are also used in agricultural industrial installations, factories, health or medicine laboratories and the mining industry.

Dosing pumps are commonly used to add caustic chemicals or acids to water storage tanks to neutralize pH.

Dosing pumps are also often used as chlorine pumps to kill viruses and bacteria. Certain brands are designed for more complicated situations, such as high temperatures and high pressures.

HOW DOSING PUMP WORKS
The dosing pump pumps a predetermined amount of liquid or substance into the pump chamber and adds the liquid to the process. The pump is driven by electric power or air actuators and has a controller that can turn the pump on and off and regulate its flow.

According to the brand and shape, Chemical Dosing Pump Machines play a role in various working principles. All of these working principles serve to extract some chemicals and then inject them into pipes or tanks. There are several important parts to setting the Dosing Pump.

For more details, here is a simple explanation of how the following dosing pump works:

  1. The most basic component of the dosing pump is the valve that sucks the chemical liquid from the chemical tank to be suctioned, the pump, and the injector.
  2. The valve used is a one-way valve which is weighted so that it remains at the bottom of the chemical liquid tank to be pumped. Some brands add a float switch that functions as an alarm when the chemical liquid has run out.
  3. Connected to the valve is the pump that uses chemical-resistant plastic materials such as PVC, PE, or stainless steel.
  4. Then the liquid that has been pumped from the tank will be sprayed into the flowing solvent at a certain rate. After the injection valve sprays a certain amount of chemical, the pump will automatically stop pumping. The technology used today is a valve that can spray liquid in the middle of the solvent flow so as not to corrode the walls of the channel, so that the liquid will dissolve immediately.
